Japanese snack/Oyatsu box review!

Hi everyone! I finally received my January Oyatsu Box , It was $25 USD [Shipping fee included] and took approximately 2 weeks to ship to my country.

My box came with 10 snacks + A Naruto capsule/Gashapon toy and all the snacks came in one whole piece! The box was surprisingly small so I thought that I wouldn't get as much snacks but the 11 items were somehow packed very nicely into the box and none of the snacks were dented or broken!

I would say my experience with Oyatsu Box is great! All the snacks taste great and it even came with a piece of paper that had information about the snacks since everything was in Japanese. 

I have seen and tasted some of these snacks like Glico, Hi-chew and Pocky before so I knew that they would taste great! but I've never seen these flavours before! All the snacks were made in Japan.

Here are a couple photos and a description of what the snacks tasted like and my ratings on it! I do recommend buying this box if your country does not have access to unique Japanese snacks or if its very expensive or if you simply want to taste the snacks from another country!

Takoyaki Tei corn puffs

These chips really did confuse my tastebuds a lot! They look and smell just like the real Takoyaki.

I can't really describe the flavour but it does taste and smell a lot like the sauce that you put on top of Takoyaki it has a hint of corn flavour to it as well.

I wouldn't really say that this tastes good and it doesn't taste bad either, but if you have unique tastebuds like me, Im sure you would find this interesting, its very crunchy too!

Giant Caplico - Chocolate Bomber 

I used to bring these to school all the time as a kid, But I've never ever seen this flavour before, apparently its limited edition. Guaranteed, this snack is one of the best on my snack list. 

This is an ice-cream cone shaped snack with a real ice cream cone that always stays crunchy and I love it! The flavour is a bit on the sweet side and the milk and white chocolate are soft and melt in your mouth the moment you bite it! 

I also love the fact that there are characters from Youkai watch featured on this product! I would definitely buy this snack if I were craving something sweet!

HanaKappa DIY Jelly

The packaging on this was so cute! It featured a cute Kappa on the packaging and was very eye catching, so naturally I tried this first. The kit includes a spoon, a limited edition cup and the jelly powder.

Just like the poppin' cookin and other DIY kits, the pictures tell all the instructions you need! The jelly foamed up as I was mixing it and left it to cool in the fridge. The jelly is quite soft and delicate and had a nice scent [From the powder]. ￣▽￣〜

Sadly the flavour doesn't really appeal to me. It tasted just like the Poppin Cookin Sushi Kit and I think it was quite horrible! It would be okay since its my first time trying it but I wouldn't buy this again.

Tohato Chocobi 

The packaging had Shin-chan on it which I love very much and even included a free Shin-chan sticker! The snack smelled like cocoa powder and coco pops!

The flavour was really good! It was sweet, but not too sweet, just right~ It also had a very small hint of corn flavour but it still tastes good, it was crunchy and crumbles into your mouth and the texture is just like coco pops.  

I would definitely buy this again since it was one of the best snacks in this months Oyatsu box~

Hi Chew Mini

The packaging of these were so cute! The box had a little flap at the side that could open and close to dispense the Hi-chews.  The taste is just like the fruit flavoured mentos except that these are much more chewier and not as hard as mentos, it smells great as well!  The snack had 4 different flavours, Grape, Apple, Lemon and strawberry~ I like lemon flavour the best.

Morinaga Ramune Soda Candies

The packaging came in a little bottle that looks exactly like the ramune bottles its so cute >//< 

The feeling you get when eating them is the same as the feeling you get from drinking a cold glass of water after brushing your teeth!

It wasn't too sweet and the soda flavour kicks in once you start chewing, It just gave off a really refreshing taste like the times when you eat those mints except that this one isnt minty!

PariKore Gummy - Peach and Grape 

I've never seen anything like this before and I thought that the candy would be solid hard, to my surprise, the outside is actually a thin layer of sugar which gives a really loud crunch sound once you bite it~  

The inside however was soooo soft! I can't find the exact words but the texture of the gummy candy was softer than any gummy candy ive tried, even softer than jelly and it just melts in your mouth. 

I am not a fan of sweet things, if you haven't noticed so I didn't really like this candy that much since it was the sweetest out of all the snacks and had just TOO much sugar~ (´⌣`ʃƪ)

Don-Koeda Chocolate 

This is definitely one of my favourites in this box! The chocolate bar was a mix of crunchy bits of biscuits, rice puffs and almond!  

The chocolate itself was not too sweet and not too bland, it was perfect! Once you bite into it, its super crunchy and everything just combines well together~ I highly reccomend buying this snack!

Pocky Midi - Strawberry

 

Do I even have to review pocky? Of course it tastes great, I mean, Its pocky!  

I've tried mango, strawberry, banana, green tea, chocolate, oreo, white chocolate, and almond  pocky when I travel around asian countries but I've never seen them come in boxes like these, my nearby asian grocery store stocked up on these recently.  

Its basically chocolate and strawberry all packed in together, 2x fatter and 2x thicker but 1/2 the size haha.

Puccho-Kumamoto Strawberry

These really remind me of starburst candy, but its not as sweet. The outside has gummy, sticky texture and the inside of the candy either has a gummy piece of strawberry or creamy milk strawberry.  

I really like these! I actually thought that it had strawberry jam-like filling but its actually like a strawberry gummy bear inside [Shaped like a hotdog!]
